Young & Beautiful

Though we were once a path I'd love to take, you've become a path that was a mistake.
Though now I look back at the glass, I don't remember why we didn't last.
I'd love to take a glance at our last place, it was a beautiful disgrace.

You loved to act like we didn't belong, I just acted like nothing was wrong.
You looked at me like a pearl in it's shell, glistening as it's beauty has gone.
You made me realize you weren't here for the long run.

I look back at the memories as they fade.
They were black and white and a beautiful shade.
They play the sounds of laughter, the sounds of flirtation.
It makes me question, did you really feel or was it all pretend.
I'll never know in the end.

You play your game, you play it well.
I was just a pawn, in your game of chess.
I was nothing but a speck.
You had me at hello, never had time to say goodbye.

You broke the hearts of many ladies.
I've just spoken for the young and beautiful.

Raise your glass, let your game begin.
We all catch on in the end.
